Steven Friedlander is the founder and CEO of SKF Global Consulting.  Headquartered in New York City, SKF Global Consulting is a provider of innovative sustainability services to commercial and multi-family real estate companies, hotels, hospitals, schools and universities, and sports/entertainment venues.

Friedlander began his career in 1996 as in importer and vendor of consumer products, selling to such companies as Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and CVS.

In 2007, Friedlander became a passionate advocate for environmental responsibility and sustainability.  He integrated this awareness into his business by making a shift to offering green products (such as biodegradable tableware) to his clients.  He expanded his inventory to also include natural commercial cleaners, which were not only more effective than cleaners containing harsh and toxic chemicals, they were also better for the environment and less expensive.

Friedlander found a market for his natural, eco-friendly cleaning supplies among large commercial property owners and managers of high profile buildings in New York City.  As he learned more about the tangible benefits that his products delivered to his clients – as well as to the overall long term sustainability of the planet – Friedlander committed himself to exclusively focusing his endeavors on commerce initiatives that supported the environment.

In 2011, Friedlander began aggregating a network of green building pioneers that offered a variety of unique energy efficiency-improving technologies.  The network includes  Rob Watson, who is regarded as the Father of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and is the founding chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council.  Along with his network, Friedlander’s SKF Global Consulting provides these environmentally-friendly and cost effective technologies to property owners across the United States.

Friedlander lives in New York City with his wife and two children.  He’s a graduate of The George Washington University in Washington, DC with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
